  1. Hello, my fiancé and I are looking to move to Pennsylvania, he currently works as a security guard in New York state. I was wondering if there is a way to transfer his security license from New York to Pennsylvania, or if he has to re-register completely.
    Thank you for your time,
    Jessica.

    • Hello Jessica and thank you for looking into Security Guard Exchange Network of state licensed security guard training centers. Typically, one States’ license is not accepted permanently by another State. The main reason is that all states have different laws regarding the legal issues and liability issues security officers face while on duty. Our advise is for you to contact the Pennsylvania State Police, they will be able to tell you whether they will accept your existing New York Security Guard License. You can find a link to the PA State Police at the bottom of our Licensing Requirements page. Please feel free to contact us directly at 855-232-4827 that’s 855-BE-A-GUARD and any of our Security Guard training agents will be glad to help you further.
